Here are some of my favourite virtual exhibitions that I have stumbled across this mornth that I thought I would share. I am not an art expert by any stretch of the imagination but each of these have lots to see and think about and brought a little joy into my day.
1. Epona - Part of Eisteddfod AmGen
Epona includes work by 31 artists who have all exhibited in Y Lle Celf at the National Eisteddfod of Wales before. Amongst them 16 have won either the Gold Medal for Fine Art or the Gold Medal for Craft and Design.
2. KIZUNA Virtual tour - National Museum Cardiff
This exhibiton was on display in 2018 in the National Museum Cardiff but thanks to the magic of technology we can still view it. It shows the beauty and colour of Japan and Wales. Take a look!
3. cARTrefu Virtual Exhibition
'cARTrefu, which means to reside in Welsh, is Age Cymru’s flagship arts in care homes project that has been running since 2015. The aim of the project is to improve access to quality arts experiences for older people in residential care, and develop artist’s and care home workers’ skills in running these sessions'. This Gallery showcases the art work and the artists from care homes accross Wales.
4. The Womens suffrage movement in Wales - at the Senedd
Either read through or watch a video on the origins of Women's suffrage in Wales.
5. Benches in the Landscape - North Wales and Anglesey
In this fascinating take on landscape photography, The artist, Adrian Cann, intended to 'document the solitude and quite often the beauty of the view which the bench provides at that particular moment in time'. You can explore the virtual gallery independently or take a guided tour.
